Here's a faacinating email I recently received from Randy Saunders:
We all know that the Obama campaign is miles ahead of McCain’s when it comes to leveraging social media and the Internet.
For instance, here’s an interesting youtube stat:
· Obama: 1,100 youtube videos, viewed over 58 million times
· McCain: 200 youtube videos, viewed 4 million times
I just learned that McCain is completely internet-inept. He doesn’t send emails and he’s just now learning how to use Google (in fact, he calls it “The Google”).
Here’s a great example of the viral power of the Obama followers. Hip Hop artist will.i.am created this moving video, “Yes We Can,” inspired by a Barack speech. This video has been viewed more than 21 million times and has won an Emmy and “Webby Award.” It’s a “home run” for Obama—yet his campaign had no involvement with the production of the video.
