If Dream Theater Can Satisfy its Customers, Surely You Can, Too!

Dan Sitter tuned into a concert by one of his favorite bands -- Dream Theater.

He notes on his blog that "A major component of their success is their relentless pursuit of the overall customer experience. Their concerts are longer than most. They get the audience involved, frequently inviting a musician from the crowd to come up and join the band for a song. Their fans are a huge factor in the marketing of the band, Yes, they make their business work well. Can the same be said of your business efforts?"

Then he goes on to ask a series of questions that every Customer Experience Manager should be asking:

  • How unique is your product or service?
  • Do you fill a niche' or are your attempting to satisfy everyone?
  • Would your customers and competitors rate you as a virtuoso in your field?
  • Is your company considered a cut above the rest of the field?
  • Are you like a breath of fresh air to your customers?
  • Do your customers help your marketing efforts by happily spreading the word and providing unlimited referrals?

The bottom line... Are your customers satisfied?
