Roaring River

The faith journey to love God profoundly and people passionately

What is Roaring River All About?

By Dale Wolf

Roaring river The concept for Roaring River actually came to me years ago when a wonderful Christian friend Jim Lothrop shared with me his desire to be a part of community that felt like a roaring river of faith. The image behind this phrase is powerful ... we can all imagine what a roaring river looks like as it sweeps everything in its path.

There is great excitement when you are caught up in such a roaring river ... it is something I feel everytime I see Christians sharing love with those around them.

So, here we are with The Roaring River Blog.

Roaring River is a Community of the Faithful

I hope that this will become a community project ... not my blog, but Christ's blog ... written by those inspired by His love and enjoyed by everyone in the faith community. I encourage you to comment on articles posted to this blog ... this is how we will share with one another.

The Roaring River Flows

Roaringriverfall99_1_th What we're talking about here is a roaring river of faith. Pulsating. Throbbing. Like it has a heartbeat of its own. Pushing all obstacles to love aside. Leaving only love behind.

The love of Jesus who from the cross with his arms stretched out looking down on each and everyone of us as he covered us with his grace.

We then become the molecules in the roaring river, returning his love by loving those around us. Making your problems my problems.

This roaring river started when Rick Warren wrote <br>his 40 Days of Purpose, and it springs to life again with his 40 Days of Community.

For six weeks we have over 100 small groups meeting in homes in neighborhoods all around Montgomery Community Church. My group is meeting in the home of Terry Cox. We will focus on loving others around us. The changes will hopefully last into eternity.

This blog will grow and evolve, but its starting point is to give our little band meeting at Terry's house a place in the blogosphere where we can share and comment on the experiences from our focus on building a loving community that will cause Jesus and the Father to smile.

Most of us are new at sharing our thoughts in writing so be patient with us as we grow in our knowledge and learn what our collective voice is all about.

Let's jump into the water.
