Joseph Reveals His True Identity
Joseph dismissed his servants and said to his brothers that he was their lost brother, Joseph. They were speechless because they were terrified of what was to happen. Joseph asked if his father was still alive.
Then he told them not to be afraid for having sold him into slavery because it was God's will that he might be sent ahead to save them and their father from the famine.
Further, he said this all resulted in his being a leader of all Egypt.
He asked them to reurn and bring their father, their families and their herds to live in a safe region in Egypt where he would care for them during the five remaining years of famine still coming. They all embraced and wept.
He sent them back with food for the journey and with carts to bring back the family. When the brothers returned, their father at first did not believe that Joseph was alive and a powerful leader in Egypt. When he saw the carts loaded with provisions, he agreed to go to Egypt to see Joseph.
